Policies

1. I have a no smoking policy. No smoking is permitted on the premises at any time.

2. I have a no smacking policy. Difficult behaviour will be addressed in a sensitive and caring manner, without the use of any negative words and raised voices. I endeavour to work with parents to promote positive behaviour.

3. I have a healthy eating policy in place and will encourage this by supplying only healthy snacks.

4. The welfare of the child or young person is vitally important. In cases where I have a reason to suspect abuse, ill treatment or neglect I will have no option but to inform the relevant authorities.

Health and Welfare
1. In order to protect the health and welfare of the other children in the group; I am unable to accept an unwell child.
2. No medications will be given without prior consent from the parents.
3. In the event of an accident parents will be informed and an accident report sheet will be completed and given to the parent to counter-sign.

Records
Parents have a right to view the records held on the child at any time.
All records will be held in the strictest of confidence.

Complaints Procedure
If parents are unhappy with any aspect of their child’s care I would like to discuss it with them in the first instance. If they are unhappy with the way their complaint has been handled I would recommend that they contact the Care Commission who will give advice. I aim to have a close relationship with parents and will always make time to talk in private if necessary about their child’s progress, behaviour or any other matter.
